I have designed a makeup to go with the adornment I made last week. I based it on the colours of the gems and the feathers.
Because the colours were mainly reds browns and black, I used them as a strong feature in my design. I decided to use a block red colour to create flames coming up from the neck and on to the face, as it is bold and interesting.
I used black and white on the eye to create a bold and striking line underneath the eye. It is a fairly simple makeup, but I think it is effective and bold. I think I could have done more to the eyes, especially if this is a makeup for a catwalk or the stage.
I also used Gafquat to slick the hair back, which is also a good back to stick a head piece on to (should it be any bigger than the one I made)

Branka's Demo
Branka had also demo'ed her makeup at the beginning of the class for the piece that she had made. It was interesting to see a big adornment on the forehead, that goes up into the hair. This is how she created the look:
- Mix Gafquat with warm water in a bowl
- Use a tail comb to work it through small sections
- It dries quite quickly so spray water on to the hair to increase working time
- Pink and Blue paint in blond hair stains!
- Moisturisers - Bodyshop seaweed - mattifying
- Mix clown white with foundation and leave to warm up on the back of the hand
- Apply clown white on to the eye lid
- Apply shadow over the top - pack it on section by section
- Apply foundation mixture quite theatrically and blend in
- Use a pink lipstick and stipple on to cheekbones and temples
- Highlight with Vanilla pigment (MAC)
- Dot some spirit gum on to the back of the wig lace on the adornment
- Place on to the forehead
In this case, Branka didn't measure the wig lace before making the adornment, so it didn't fit the model head properly. She just stick some coffee stirrers on the back of it to help it stand up instead, creating a head dress effect.
